Day with Jacob
-Today (17-2-2008), I and Jacob went around for Colombo city visit. Around 12 I picked him and we both went to a money exchange center and we exchanged his money. Today 1 Euro is equal to 157 SLR.
Then we went to Majestic City, and we did a small shopping around the shopping mall. After that we went to Gangarama, where we visited the Buddhist temple. It’s a beautiful place; also there is a place nearby, which is a small land in the lake. (Hint: It’s a famous place for lovers).
Now I need to take him to a new trainee house, so bye for now. Catch ya later.
I was browsing books in Cargill’s book shop, Majestic city. Suddenly, my phone started to vibrate..!!! CLI says “yohan Calling….”
I came out and answered the phone. “Mayu! Where are you?”
“I’m in MC yohan. What’s up?”
“come to food court”
“Okies” I cut the phone and went to food court.
There you go.. some of my AIESEC friends came along with yohan (Ashan, Dinusha, Lakmini, Chameendra, Shanika, Nadi).
“Wow.. so it’s gonna be a day out with AIESECers?”
“yep.. Ashan answered”
This is how I joined with this group. Later we had our lunch in MC and left to Mt. Laviniya around 3. We stayed in the beach till 6.30. Talked some crab and had enough fun!!!
Can’t forget this day in my life another beautiful memory brought by AIESEC
Adelina Velikova, a well known name among Sri Lankan AIESECers. She came to Sri Lanka as an intern and then worked in MC as MCVP – ER (External Relations). We @ers are privileged to have her in our country.
I can still remember her welcome party, where she was performing Bulgarian traditional dance with our beloved buddi. She was on rite place with rite people to perform her best. She did a good job as a MCVP –ER.
Happiness won’t last for long, now the time has come. She is going to leave us and our country… We all gonna miss you my dear sister!!!!!
It’s been a long time since I wrote my last post in this blog. In this post I’d like to give some updates regarding our PBOX (Project Based on Exchange).
Finally we have matched two interns to teach English in Schools. Two Interns came from China main land. Now both of them are teaching in Wattala Zakira College.
Our PBOX has moved into next phase, we are so glad. Thanks to whole wings to fly OC and our beloved LCP and Madu. They are the initiators of this PBOX. Special thanks go to all other people who helped us to get this far…
We hope to have one more match for this PBOX in September, hope things will go as we expected.
On may 31st , 12 o clock, one of the most beautiful moment in my life. Yep… my EB term has begun.
That night was awesome and we had hell lot of fun. We were finding different cultures and then we were making fruit salad. Anyway our group has won the best Fruit makers award. Thanx to the judges.
I should also talk about the crush stories.. Whoa... it was a nice gossiping... I found that each and every people have crush in their life… Guys and Gals... Don’t worry… there is one waiting for you... ;)
Each EB, MC, NST people were making inspiring speeches. It gave us the confidence that we’ll rock in this term for sure.
Here I’d like to take this opportunity to thank, YOU KNOW WHO, for being the spirit of our LC. :)
There is no bound for AIESEC experience; this is what I learned from the NATCON 2007. Since I missed the NLDS, it was my first AIESEC conference and I’d say it’s awesome.
I learned hell lot of things from this seminar. I come to know many new AIESECers, specially the new set of people from Colombo!!!! .
The hero, Robin hood, chair of the NATCON 2007 is Willy!. Hey guy.. it was amazing, the way you conduct the session, the way you interacted with us… it’s cool machang!!! Thanks a lot!!! AIESEC Sri Lanka won’t forget you!!!
We had a Avurudu party and CN won the tug-of-war.. Yipee!!! We beat the CS!!!! Ha.. ha.. ha..
If we talk about the awarding ceremony, it’s again an unforgettable event. CN rocked the house. Another happy award was the award given to my friend Nilanka, the AIESEC value award.. Cool machan!!! Way to go!!!
Our PBOX selected as the best PBOX and we were flying in the air!!! Thanks a lot.. thanks a lot to each and everyone those who guided us!!! Specially madu and Thilanka! It’s them.. they are the heroines of our LC!!!
Finally I got one Congress award.. OMG do you really thing I’m socially responsible? Huh?!!! Thank you guys for vote for me. Thanks!!! I’m sure that certificate and the sugar cubes will stay with me for the rest of my life. I could have wrote more sugar cubes.. I never thought that I gonna get this much of sugar cubes!!! Thanks !! thanks!!!
Closing planery was very touching and tears trembling in my eyes! We gonna miss Sujith aiya and Sasha. AIESEC Sri Lanka gonna miss you a lot guys!!!
All in all it was a nice experience with wonderfull people! Thanks to OC and faci!!! I love you guys!!!!
Battle for the helms deep is about to end!!!! Soon we’ll strike Mordor!!!
Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!! Finally we manage to find a SN from Russia for our PBOX wings to Fly. It’s another example for our group effort and passion.
As usual our beloved Madhu helped us a lot to find this SN and she guided us all the time. Unforgettable experience is the online interview with the new intern (Mr. Kirrill). I, Nilanka, Madu interviewed him via MSN messenger. It was indeed a different experience! Hope soon we’ll find more SNs for our PBOX.
Now I gotta tell you why I compared this situation with the battle of the helms deep!!! For sure we’ll win this war but we have to face more obstacles, cos still we have to find more SNs and lots of things to be done!!! The finale battle is upon us; soon we’ll break through the lines of MORDOR!
· Nilanka – Mm… Let him be the Aragon · Dinusha – She is doing learning part so let her be the Gimly!! (Kid’n !!!! ;)) . · Tix – he.. he.. She is so active like Frodo ;) (Very silently doing her part… Just like fordo) · Chameendra – Like Sam, she always cares about our PBOX. Nice EP/VP · Mayu – ah… mm… LEGOLAS (I know it’s toooooooooooooooo much!!!!!) ;) · Shanika – Finance!!! So rich like King of Rohan.
· MADHU – She is the Gandalf… cos you know guys she is always guiding us even in the tough time.
· THILANKA – Émor, loyal rider of the CN.
We’ll ride out and meet them, For the glory of Wings to fly and CN, The horn of the helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep Let it be the hour when we draw swords together, (I mean our OC) Now for Kids, Now for TNs and SNs, AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!
We are stepping out to face the obstacles, from the Helms deep, actually Madhu (Gandalf, the white rider) waiting outside with Émor and his riders (its Thilanka and rest of the CN family) to assist us!
